Call to Artists! ACCFutures is pleased to announce a commission opportunity for artists

Artists are encouraged to interpret the “Akwesasne, Cornwall and the Counties entrepreneurial spirit” theme through a conceptual design. Artwork does not have to be created specifically for this opportunity but must be 24X30 in size and represent the theme. Artists are encouraged to conceptualize the theme through a timeless work of art. Submissions should not be a literal representation of the theme. Artists are discouraged from including the Cornwall Clocktower or the Seaway International Bridge as the main focus of their submission. Artists of all styles are encouraged to submit their work.

Artist applications must be submitted by 11:59 pm on February 20th, 2023, to be considered for this opportunity.

To be considered complete, applications must include the following:

Completed digital application form.
Three high-resolution images of previous works
Conceptual design (the conceptual works should be in rough format but provide the in-house review panel with a good understanding of the proposed artwork).
Brief written explanation of the conceptual design.

GUIDELINES:

Participating artists must be Akwesasne, Cornwall, SD&G, or Saint Regis residents.
Artwork submitted must relate to the theme (Akwesasne, Cornwall, and the Counties entrepreneurial spirit) as interpreted by the artist.
All forms of visual art will be accepted (including work created digitally).
Original artwork only (e.g. no photomechanical reproductions of paintings).
Only one entry per artist.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Our in-house panel of ACCFutures staff and board of directors will review applications.
Entries will be considered in no specific order.
ACCFutures may request edits to conceptual design.
The chosen artists’ compensation of $1200 CDN will be paid at the time of artwork delivery.
ACCFutures reserves the right to copy and print the commissioned artwork.
The contracted artist is responsible for providing ACCFutures with a high-resolution image of the commissioned artwork for printing.
ACCFutures may share photos of the commissioned artwork and contracted artist on social media for promotional purposes.
ACCFutures reserves the right to decline all submissions and retract the call for submission before the artist announcement date of February 27th, 2023.
Commissioned artwork and digital images must be completed and delivered to ACCFutures by March 27th, 2023.
